Ron Santo petition for the Hall of Fame!
Submitted by santo4hof on Wed, 2009-12-16 11:49Do you think Ron Santo should be enshrined in Cooperstown? I do and his career totals proves that he should be in the Hall of Fame. He is one of the best third baseman in baseball history. He was the best 3rd baseman of his era. He was the 2nd 3rd baseman in history to hit over 300 HR's. If you are a fan of baseball please sign the petition to the Veterans Committee he deserves to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame. Ron Santo fans lets unite together!
Mark Cuban reportedly charged criminally
Submitted by FearlessBear on Mon, 2008-11-17 10:47A report on the Internet this morning quotes a Wall Street Journal bulletingn saying Mark Cuban has been indicted for "insider trading" in the stock of a company called Mooma.com. If true, that will be damaging to any bid of his to own the Cubbies.
What do you think had the most effect on Carlos Zambrano's pitching results during the Sept 19 game vs the Cardinals?

Submitted by thecomebackseason on Wed, 2008-03-19 09:39Hello,
I just wanted to let everyone know about a book I've written called THE COMEBACK SEASON. It's intended for young adults, but at its heart, is a story about what it means to be a Cubs fan, and about the way they teach us to hope. I love this site, and would really appreciate any help in spreading the word to everyone out there in Cubdom!
Here's the Amazon link to the book:

Banning alcohol from MLB Clubhouses, improving play on the field
Submitted by diana on Wed, 2007-05-02 13:39First, a quote from today's Chicago Tribune...
Drinking starts in the clubhouse
Hancock's death brings questions about alcohol use
Published May 2, 2007
Billy Beane, as progressive of a GM as there is in baseball, banned beer from the Athletics' clubhouse during the 2006 season. He instituted the rule shortly after pitcher Esteban Loaiza was stopped for drunken driving after leaving the clubhouse.
Chicago Cubs fans, Wrigley Field request list
Submitted by diana on Thu, 2007-04-26 13:01For some reason, we Cubs fans feel that it is our duty to share our ideas with the Cubs management on how to run their ballclub, ballpark, etc. Even our Governor shares this sense of duty. Go figure.
Anyway, here are my ideas. Feel free to reply with your suggestions too.
Sam Zell Ownership should be interesting.
Submitted by FearlessBear on Mon, 2007-04-02 08:17If the rumors are correct and Sam Zell buys the Tribune Company, that is reason for cautious optimism about the future of the Cubs. The good news is Zell is a long time Chicagoan. The additional good news is he is very smart. The question is whether his likely affection for the City and the team will translate to him keeping control or selling off the organization to ease the debt burden on the Tribune. If he chooses to sell off, one hopes he will favor local ownership. Maybe he will get creative and offer shares to fans. In any event, it is better that he wins the contest for the Company than a non-Chicago person.
Does lousy spring training equal an excellent Cubs baseball season?
Submitted by diana on Mon, 2007-03-05 17:18There is a theory that Cubs fans should delight in spring training losses, because in the past a lousy spring training w/l record would be followed by a winning Cubs regular baseball season.
My question is... do the Cubs baseball statistics prove this theory?
I don't know where to find the Cubs w/l records for spring training, or I'd check it myself.
